The tiny South Baltimore neighborhood of Sharp-Leadenhall has survived numerous government attempts to bulldoze its homes and disperse its population. But with their roots in the neighborhood reaching back to 1790. the mostly poor and black families in Sharp-Leadenhall are determined to preserve their hold on the neighborhood, despit the threat of highway construction projects, "urban removal" programs and gentrification.
